My 3 Pregnancies! Part one - A young Mom's First born

I was going through all my old posts and came across one where I briefly announced the birth of my youngest child. So I decided to document them all from what I can remember here.

I'm going to start off with the first one.

I was a young mom still in highschool about to graduate when I had my first baby. He changed my life for the better.

I did not have any good and real friends. In fact I didnt even know what a good friend looked like at that time in my life. I didnt really have low self esteem. I just ended up keeping to myself the majority of the time. I am very quick to cut someone off at times.

I met this guy. He was so sweet to me. We got into a little relationship very fast. I had known him for a year prior to actually being with him. Within a few months I was pregnant. I was in extreme denial at first because I gained almost no weight until the 5th month. My mom found out when I was 6 months and my dad when I was almost 7 months.

Aside from being so small it was a normal healthy pregnancy. I only remember throwing up a handful of times throughout the entire thing. Everything was peaches and cream.

One day I woke up and I was leaking fluid. It wasnt much and I had no clue what had happened. I had a doctors appointment that same day so I decided to wait until then to find out what was going on.

When I got there they told me my water had broken! It was too soon!! I was only 8 months!

Technically I was 36 weeks. So I was right at that point where its any day now. They gave me a sonogram and basically he was ready! But I never actually went into labor!!

I left the doctors office after waiting around for my dad for hours! I had to go to the hospital to get a C-Section. The baby was way small.

When I got there, my dad left me alone. The baby's father was no where in sight.

I was all alone. They gave me a spinal and wheeled me into surgery. I watched as my feet slowly fell to the sides and I couldnt feel or move anything from the waist down.

It was a CRAZY feeling.

They cut me open which I do vaguley remember feeling. It didnt hurt, just felt weird. Then I could feel them pulling and kind of jerking me around.

Next thing I know my brand new baby boy was in my arms, while they sewed me back up.

He was the most precious and tiny little thing I had ever seen in my life.

At that moment in time. E.V. E. R. Y. T. H. I. N. G. Stopped.

There was only him.

He was the love of my life.

He was 4lbs 11ozs. 19"

He had very pale pink skin and the thickest bush of hair on his head I have ever seen!!

So precious.

I spent the next 3 or 4 days in the hospital, and he spent the next 7 days. He was in the NICU for 3 days because he was underweight and they wanted to monitor him. When he reached 5lbs they let me take him home.

The C-Section was one of the most uncomfortable things I have ever  encountered. It hurt to sneeze, it hurt to laugh, it felt funny to pee... tmi..
Within a week my scar was infected. I had to take antibiotics for 2 weeks to get rid of the infection. I couldnt move! It was terrible!

If I would have known that it would feel like that afterwards I would have had a vag birth.

I breast fed him, which I did very well with. He responded very well to it as well. Make sure to use lanolin or you will have some seriously sore nipples. Nipple shields are also great and sometimes they help the baby to latch on better.

I mostly breast fed, but bottle fed as well. I would hand pump for hours to be able to store enough milk for him.

One day, I remember pumping a good 8ozs of milk and storing it in the refrigerator. My mom found it and thought it was spoiled milk and poured it all out! She pissed me off so bad by doing that!! It took me forever to pump that much milk!

I slept with him by my side every night cuddled in my arms. One night I had a dream about snakes and felt one wrap around my arm. I flinched and woke up to his precious little legs wrapped around my wrist. I got so scared that I might have hurt him, but he was fine and sleeping so peacefully.

(*If you are a heavy sleeper or roll around a lot when you sleep you should NOT sleep in the same bed with your baby! I know a girl who killed her newborn this way. So sad. ),: )

But yea....

He was the sweetest baby, and I could tell he was going to be like his father in that way. He always looked up to me as if looking for my approval. Every time I think of him my heart melts.
He had the cutest little giggle and I would do everything to make him laugh. I couldnt get enough. I couldnt get enough of him.

I hated leaving him. But obviously I had to finish school and I did so and did very well mind you.

He made me a better person and has taught me so much about myself and others.

He is the first love of my life.

Pregnancy and Childbirth - My 3 Stories

Since this is now Beauty and the Babies, I thought it would be appropriate to post about baby stuff!!

I wanted to talk about each of my pregnancies, because they were all Extremely different. It was so strange to see my body react so differently with each new baby.

I will go into more detail on separate posts but here is a quick summary:

1st - Gained very little weight. Water broke at 36 weeks. Never went into labor, c-section.

2nd - Gained a Ton of weight. Went into labor at 38 weeks, lasted 14hrs!

3rd - Did ok with weight gain, not too much. Labor at 38 weeks, lasted about 4 hrs! This is by far one of the most Crazy storys I have.

2 boys and a girl. :)

Detailed post about my first pregnancy coming soon!

Major Change in Blog Layout & Website!

So at about 2am this morning I had an Epiphany!
I have been thinking on how to improve my websites and what exactly I wanted to do with beautyandthebabies and marleynaa...

What I decided to do was import all posts from makeupbymar and beautyandthebabies into this blog! naturalhairgrowthjourney!!

Instead of having 3 blogs and a website... 2 different domains and such... Just incorporate it all into one site! Duhh!!

So this site will no longer be naturalhairgrowthjourney, nor will it be naturalhair.marleynaa...

This site IS NOW:

Beauty and the Babies!!!!

I will be blogging about everything here, because it is a bit difficult to keep up with so many websites at once. Plus by changing the theme I can post about everything instead of focusing on just one thing. That seems to be a big issue for me when it comes to blogging and probably the reason why I cant seem to keep up with it.

I will be changing the layout of this as well again to make it all pretty and not just so, blah like it is now.

All the links from the other websites will also redirect here as well.

This seems a little sad to me.. I feel like I'm killing a pet that has been with me for 6 years and replacing it with another...

I dont want to change it.

Gosh, I'm so dramatic.

Now I'm thinking I should start posting all my videos on beautyandthebabies youtube instead of marand313... That way everything will match up... Maybe I can just post each video on both pages and once the subscriber count goes up I will switch over. My audience is on marand313 and I have come and gone so many times its ridiculous. I will keep youtube as is for now.

URLs should all be updated now.

WigsRoyal Glueless Cap Review

The Cap Construction
This is of the one with the silk top, but they both look pretty much the same.

The Hairline before removing ribbon  !!!!

Even with bangs it was crazy obvious!

Removing Ribbon from Hairline

I paid for this with my own money. This was NOT sent to me to review. Obviously these are my own thoughts and opinions.

Vitamins and update.

I have been very good about taking my vits everyday. I might miss a day here and there but never more than 2 and I always pick it back up.
I ran out of EPO 2 weeks ago, so I am going to have to restock on that pretty soon but I keep forgetting.
Other than that its been great!

Im still juicing although not daily like before but its still a big part. I have been adding flaxseeds to my juices because flax is just so good for you!
I have found that the flaxseed oil bloats me so I eat the raw, organic seeds. Just grind them up and mix them into the juice or any foods. They do give a nice flavor and texture.

I have added daily running to my regimen, which has given significant results! I have asthma so I had to start off slow. I started off with walking for 20min everyday and then worked up a faster pace everyday. Then increased the amount of time every day as well.

Right now I am running or walking at a brisk pace for about 30min everyday.

My stomach is completely flat, although I still have a layer of fat it is going down everyday and I look great.

All the weight I put on over the holidays is pretty much gone.

Now I am working on toning my belly and arms.

Pilates and yoga...

Length Check 2 - Apr 14 2012 - Video

I recorded this video last month but could never seem to find the time to edit and upload it. But, oh well...
Its up now and basically I did another BKT and a length check. I made this a quick one.

The BKT is Awesome!! I have to say that I really love the outcome of my hair when I do this treatment. And I will continue to do them every 3-6 months from now on, or just whenever I feel like straightening my hair.

Peek-a-boo Highlights!

I am seriously in love with this hair! Did some serious tweaking and she is better than ever!

Her name is Mila Kunis-Jovovich.

Plus check out my awesome new shoes!

I recorded a video review of the hair and the site i bought it from, as well as the video of me highlighting the hair.

I have to say, I cant stand foil.

So here is what I have done to this hair so far:

I received her Friday.

Day 1
*removed seam in the front of the cap to make hairline look natural
*bleached knots
*washed & DC overnight w/ hello hydration
Day 2
*blew dry with John Frieda Dream Curls
*sealed knots

Played with her for a few days trying to come up with an idea to break it up because it was too solid in color and looked like too much. I didnt want to thin her because she was too perfect the way she was. I love thick hair and my natural hair is just as, if not moreso thick.

I decided to do some subtle peek-a-boo highlights!

So today, i ran to sallys and grabed supplies.
Bleach powder, 40 volume developer, wig head, stand & Tpins, products Mila might like.(lol)

*Added the highlights going  around in a U shape and a little to the bang.
*bleached knots slightly again!
* washed and deep conditioned with new products
* blew her dry
*sealed knots

I am so in love.

She is going to last me for a very long time. My last lace wig lasted me for 3 years before i destroyed her. She was chinese.

Dont you just love how i talk about my hair as if they are real people??

Video will be up as soon as i figure out what to do with these HD videos. I cant load them on my laptop because they are too big!

Suggestions? OneTrueMedia maybe?

I was leaving the grocery store one day and came across this!

How amazing is it to see a family of geese strolling through like that. So special.

I love how the parents were so protective of the babies. They wouldnt let anyone come near them!

Luckily i was able to snap a few shots...

My new hair!

I am absolutely in Love! The hair is awesome and well worth what i paid. As long as it hold up i will be very satisfied with this purchase!

New Lace Wig

Its been a while since I've posted. What has my hair been through over the past few months? Kinky twists, weaves, brazillian treatments, and more weaves!

I took out the kinky twists after wearing them for a few months, at the middle of april.
I then did a brazillian treatment which i wore for a week and a half.
After that i wore a quick weave ponytail, with some old hair i had from last year.

Right now i have in a full head sewin with an invisibale part. It started of looking Fab but after the first week i began to shed and matt like crazy!!

This reminds me why i do not wear BSS hair anymore. This is Milky Way hair. No pictures.

So now im sitting here pissed at myself for even attempting to give this hair longevity. There is simply no hope. It sheds in clumps!

I ended up purchasing a new lace wig. It should be here in the morning and i am a little excited. Hopefully the hair will be good, if not then i will try a different company next time.

Will post pictures tomorrow when it comes.
